Unlock Democracy, The Spirit of London and the Mayoral Elections.
We have had some fantastic meetings recently and we are excited to be exploring collaborations with many different organisations to bring you the most exciting Mayoral Elections for young London. Stay tuned to hear how you can add suggestions to the 20 ‘Vote Match’ questions that can be used as a tool for everyone to see who they most relate too.
We will also announce shortly an event where we invite young Londoners to the City Hall to help launch the Mayoral Elections in late March.
JRRT Sponsor ‘My Manifesto’
On Friday 2nd December 2011, we received notification that our proposal to the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust has been successful and next year we will commence our ‘My Manifesto’ campaign.
It has one aim to help provide young people something to vote for. We will be touring our growing network throughout the next year and recording the things you are most concerned about. This information will be presented to key Minsters, Lords, MPs and spokesmen so they can include some of your issues, thoughts and ideas in their party manifestos to give First Time Voters a reason to turn out on Polling day. We will also give you the opportunity to active lobby your MP with this proposal and make a direct connection with those that make the decisions.
BtB TV
On 15th August Bite the Ballot team recorded the first episode of the BtB Pilot TV show at Maidstone Studios with help and support of the owner – Geoff Miles who has executive produced shows including Top of the Pops, Generation Game and Big Break.
It was an exciting opportunity for young people to come along, have their say and discuss current issues with our panellists which included:

- Adrian Vitoria, Director and Writer (Age of Heroes, The Crew, Capital Punishment)
- Henry Gewanter, PR executive and whistle-blower in MPs expenses scandal
- Marcus East, Councillor for Enfield and Head of Future Media & Technology at Comic Relief
- Sophie Linin, actress and political activist
ITV Meridian have closely followed us on the day.

The Bite the Ballot Run, Walk or Roll
Later this year we will announce the date for our first fund raiser, which will be a sponsored mini marathon around Westminster with an open participation for everyone. One of our Patrons Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is helping us organise this with the Greater London Authority, the London Marathon Board and a major sponsor. Stay tuned for your chance to be part of this event and show exactly how much young people want to be involved in their future. More details here!
